Rep. Hall Announces She Will Not Seek Re-election

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Rep. Elise, R-Oklahoma City, announced Friday that she will not seek re-election for House District 100.

“It has been an absolute honor and privilege to represent my friends and neighbors in House District 100, since being elected in 2010,” Hall said. “After prayer and seeking advice from mentors, family, and friends, I have decided to not seek re-election to the House of Representatives.

"Over the last 8 years, it has been a joy to get to know and become friends with the people of House District 100. Having grown up in House District 100, I already loved my community -- but it has been through conversations on front porches and time spent with constituents at the Capitol that I have grown to love the people of House District 100 even more. House District 100 is filled with salt of the earth people -- it has been an absolute privilege to represent them.

“A few years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Zoey on March of Dimes Day at the Capitol. When Zoey's mom was 36 weeks pregnant, they were involved in a car accident that caused Zoey to be born prematurely. Whether it was visiting Zoey's school as a surprise reader to her third-grade class or having Zoey come up to the Capitol during the Teacher Walk Out, it is the friendships of sweet people like she and her family that remind me what serving as a State Representative is all about. Zoey is now 9 years old and lives with her family in House District 100. It's been meeting and getting to know my neighbors, like Zoey, that have made serving in this position all worthwhile.”

Hall was first elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2010 at the age of 21 – becoming the youngest woman to serve in the Oklahoma Legislature. She has served as a member of House leadership under two speakers, as a presiding officer in the House, as the chairwoman of the House Banking and Business Committee, and as the chairwoman, vice-chair, and secretary of the House Majority Caucus.

She also serves as a member of the Appropriations & Budget Committee, Joint Committee on Appropriations & Budget, Rules Committee, and Judiciary Committee.

Hall looks forward to investing more time with her family, friends, and in the small business she and her sister own.
